MOTHER MARY – Bizarre, weird, strange. I didn’t understand it and I didn’t like it. Basically a two character movie starring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel. Their work is good. That’s about it on the good side. Long scenes get bogged down in unresolved conflict between the two characters where the dialogue keeps going inContinue reading

PROJECT HAIL MARY – We all liked it. I didn’t expect to because I’m generally not a fan of science fiction, but I liked The Martian film and both movies were based on books written by the same author. It could have become a heavy drama, but the story was lightened by lots of humorContinue reading
THE BLACK PHONE 2 – Repeat of The Black Phone 1, but better. Acting is decent. A few scares! (John was terrified, but he scares easy). I liked the final phone call…very emotional. Cheers! Boyfriends/Girlfriends – 0.
FACKHAM HALL – Silly, campy British murder mystery comedy along the lines of Naked Gun and Airplane. It was delightful to watch Damian Lewis in a departure from his usual intense dramatic roles. The film is great fun. I laughed a lot! Cheers!! Boyfriends – 1; Girlfriends – 0.
PEAKY BLINDERS THE IMMORTAL MAN – Disappointing movie sequel to the beloved series. Doesn’t pack the same punch without the original cast and storyline. Cillian’s work and sex appeal are still top notch though! Cheers! Boyfriends – 1; Girlfriends – 0.
ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER – It was a battle to sit through this film. John bailed halfway into it, never to be seen again. Darren, Mary and I made it to the end, but none of us understood what was happening or why. Plus I’m not a fan of modern revolutionary material. That said allContinue reading
SINNERS – Mike and Anna loved it. John hated it. He said it’s a remake of From Dusk to Dawn, which he also hated. I thought it had some appeal for awhile until a vampire extravaganza turned into a zombie brigade and then it lost me. I’m not a fan of zombie stories, but IContinue reading
THE NAKED GUN – Disappointing 2 out of 4 stars for this remake of the original film starring Leslie Nielsen. We were excited to watch this new version starring Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson, and we weren’t expecting it to be as good as the first…and it wasn’t. In fact it was just plain bad.Continue reading
WAKE UP DEAD MAN – The third release in the Knives Out Mystery Movie series starring Daniel Craig, who by the way, is super hot in this one with his long blond hair and stubbly beard. Josh Brolin is also hot with his long silvery hair and stubbly beard, cast as a priest gone rogue.Continue reading
SPINAL TAP II – Pretty much a rehash of the first Spinal Tap film with our favorite pretend band assembled by the great, and tragically late, Rob Reiner. I don’t remember much of the first one….just that it was very funny and I liked it a lot. Mike says this one is okay with someContinue reading
