BABYLON – Every Oscar nominated film I’ve watched so far is long. Too long. All of them. This one is no exception. It’s a depraved story of Hollywood in the 20s and 30s as it transitions from silent movies to talkies. It’s a real downer and I found many scenes hard to watch. Brad Pitt’s character was the only somewhat likable one in the piece. His scenes provided a bit of comic relief, and were a welcome break from the overall drudgery, though the entire cast was top notch. Cheers! Boyfriends – 1; Girlfriends – 1.
